Greenhouse addition to my Log Cabin | Glazing the roof (Ep8)
Просмотров 8 тыс.3 месяца назад
I installed the roof glazing to the timber frame greenhouse. I used strong UV resistant two sided tape, and later I'll finish the roof by installing wooden boards between the glasses.

Greenhouse addition to my Log Cabin | Finishing the Timber Frame (Ep6)

I finished the timber frame and started to work on the roof structure. As I mentioned in the video, many of the details in my timber frame are learned on @KrisHarbour's excellent channel. Strong recommendation there!
Greenhouse addition to my Log Cabin | Timber Frame (Ep5)
Просмотров 23 тыс.Год назад
Learning timber framing by doing. The plan I made seems to work nicely if the timber is straight and uniform. In this project I'm using dry timber to make sure it won't warp after the glass is installed. If you enjoyed the video, consider subscribing and following my Instagram: finnish.playground
Greenhouse addition to my Log Cabin | Straightening the timber (Ep4)

Greenhouse building continues. My timber stuff is pretty dry now and of course it twisted and bended. To be able to build something reasonably accurate I need to straighten out all the stuff first.
Can I built a wooden tar BARREL from scratch?

Back in the days wooden tar barrels were very common in the area where I live. I thought I would be nice to see if I can build one with traditional techniques. Turn subtitle on for more information. Instagram: finnish.playground
I made a Weaving Loom for my daughter
Просмотров 3,4 тыс.Год назад
My daughter got a small loom in christmas and got frustrated because she could do only tiny works. She asked if I could do any bigger loom. It was actually interesting as I didn't know anything about looms before. It turned out pretty good after all. The only problem seems to be the thing in the middle because gaps are a bit too tight. I need to expand them so it works smoother.
Greenhouse addition to my Log Cabin | Laying a stone foundation (Ep3)
Просмотров 10 тыс.Год назад
Turn subtitles on for more information. I wanted to try how the foundation would work without mortar. This technique was used back in the days when it was difficult to get mortar or it wasn't necessary. In my area it's very difficult to find suitabe flat rocks so I had to use quite a bit time for searching them. If the foundation end up being too wobbly I can add the mortar later on, but I gues...
Greenhouse addition to my Log Cabin | DIY Hand Truck in 2 hours (Ep2)
Просмотров 6 тыс.Год назад
I need to move lots of rocks to build the foundation, so I built a simple hand truck to save my back. It works great and I already regret I didn't put more effort on it. I should have built that years ago :D

    I have noticed that between the stone foundations and the timbers there is not bonding.In case of an earthquake or a flood the house could be swept away because there is not a connection between the stones and the timbers.Could you answer at my question???

      @FinnishPlayground 2 дня назад

      That's true. However, fortunately Finland has the fewest earthquakes in the world. Also flooding is not possible in the area I live.

    I love tar making because you get 2 useful products at once. The wood turns to charcoal or some of it to kindling but all is coated with some tar, so great for firemaking. And tar has so many uses from waterproofing wood, to being boiled down into pitch, useful as a glue.

    How about installing the stoppers on the boards that you place over the seams? So that the stoppers dont touch the horizontal board and hence atleast in theory the water wouldnt rot that board 🤔

    • @FinnishPlayground
      @FinnishPlayground 3 месяца назад

      I'm considering that too. Good side to that option is that those boards need to be replaced anyway at some point so little extra moisture isnt' that big of a deal.

    自分メモ バックで攻撃を試みた試合 結果 バックもフォアもミスが多い。ボレーとスマッシュミスも酷いが、繋ぎの玉のミスが多いと感じた。入れば勝てるではなく、ミスのない範囲で攻めることが大事と感じた(そこが難しい)。最後に、午前仕事だった後は集中力が低下する傾向にあるが、それにしても覇気が無さすぎる。うまくいかなくても楽しんで前向きに取り組めば結果も変わってくると信じる。
